adidas Canada Ltd (adidas), (referred to from this point as Reebok, we, or us), is the Operating Entity responsible for the collection and storage of consumer data in Canada. The consent wording must be applied to all websites, platforms, landing pages, (mobile) applications and other user devices, etc, which are run in the name of adidas or Reebok within Canada.
To obtain full consent from a consumer the following text has to appear before the consumer clicks on a button to start a competition, to download an App, to sign up for a newsletter, to create an account or whatever else a consumer needs to do to indicate that he/she wants to provide us with his/her data.
The consent always needs to consist of the following:
1st layer: simple consent
I agree that Reebok can use my personal data (including e-mail address)formarketing, advertisement and opinion research purposes. This includes sending me information about Reebok products. What does that mean?
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Contact us
The box must be an open tick box (not pre-ticked!).
2nd layer: explanation of consent
The following text has to appear after the consumer has clicked on “What does that mean?” in the first consent wording layer. The text can appear in the form of a pop-up screen or a floating banner which states the following:
If a consumer has clicked on the link Contact us, the following text should appear:
adidas Canada Ltd.
8100 Highway 27
Ontario, L4H 3N2
Call us toll free: 1-855-218-6554
The above consent wording has been split into three layers in order not to frighten the consumer away with a long, more complex text.
